Do you want to leave your mark on LMU's new Playa Vista Campus?
The university invites all students, faculty, staff and alumni to submit artwork ideas for the campus' elevator lobby design contest.
The winning design will adorn the open space that greets visitors on the second floor of LMU's new 50,000-square-foot campus in the Brickyard, the white-glazed brick building near Jefferson Boulevard, Centinela Avenue and the 405 Freeway.
The LMU Playa Vista Campus is slated to open in fall 2018 and will provide space for School of Film and Television graduate programs and other university initiatives.
Contestants can enter the design contest as individuals or groups, and are encouraged to think boldly, imaginatively and globally. Designs should be more than artwork on a wall; LMU envisions a super-graphic adorning the walls, ceiling and floor of the Playa Vista campus elevator lobby – one that yields an immersive environment.
The graphic can be based upon color, pattern, text, image or all of the above. The goal is to create a designed environment that makes a strong statement about LMU, Playa Vista, media, technology, community and an optimistic future.
The winning artwork will be transferred to a printed graphic that can be adhered to walls, floors, ceilings, elevator doors etc.
Submissions are due by Monday, January 15. Read more about the contest, along with examples of different immersive environments.
