Message from the President

Dear LMU Community:

I am saddened to share that Enrique Ramirez, a veteran custodian in University Hall, died on Dec. 4, 2019, after a long illness. He was 64 years old.

Mr. Ramirez was a part of our LMU family for 19 years, first as a contract employee, then for 15 years as a full-time employee. In 2018, the CSJ Center for Reconciliation and Justice recognized his conscientiousness and kindness to all whom he encountered with a Hidden Hero award. Mr. Ramirez took the time to chat with many people in the LMU community, frequently ending his conversations with, “Que Dios les bendiga” – God bless you.

A private funeral was held Dec. 12, 2019. In lieu of flowers, Mr. Ramirez’s family has set up a GoFundMe page to help defray expenses.
